Statement of Faith

Our Doctrinal Statement of Faith

We believe in One God, the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, neither limited by space (omnipresent), nor limited by time, (eternal and omniscient-knowing all things past, present, and future) and in His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Himself fully divine, of the same essence as the Father, through whom all things were made, and in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, also fully divine, of the same essence as the Father. We believe these three persons to be eternally and unchangeably one. [Gen 1:1, Ps 139:7ff. Isa 46:9-10, John 1:1-3, Acts 5:3-4, Deut 6:4]

We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. [2 Tim 3:16, 2 Pet 1:21]

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, male and female: that the first man sinned, and since all are descended from him, all are dead in their sins and in need of God’s grace. [Gen 1:26, Rom 5:12ff]

We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man. [Luke 1:34-35, John 1:14]

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ lived a righteous, sinless life as a representative for us, and died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His righteous life and shed blood. [Rom 3:21-26, Rom 5:18-19]

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate. [1 Cor. 15:3ff, Acts 1:9, 1 John 2:1]

We believe that all who receive the grace of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God, and will continue in that grace in constant dependence on the Holy Spirit, and therefore should seek no secondary outpouring of the Spirit or second blessing such as speaking in tongues. [Rom 8:12-14, 2 Cor. 3:18, Phil 1:6]

We believe in one holy Church, the Body of Christ and the Temple of the Holy Spirit, made up of all believers in Jesus Christ, and that within this Body are many local bodies. These local churches are recognized as churches by the loving fellowship of their members, the teaching of right doctrine, the exercise of authority of church leadership, and the right administration of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. [1 Cor. 12:13, Acts 2:42, Eph 4:4-5, 1 Cor. 11:23]

We believe in that blessed hope, the personal, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. [Titus 2:13, Rev 20:3, 5-6] We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost. [1 Thess. 4:13-17, Rev 20:12-15]
